Baby's First Pull Quote

Nancy Duarte (of Duarte Design, the firm that designed Al Gore's famous slideshow seen in An Inconvenient Truth) has a great new book on presentation strategies:

...and Sky is featured in a two page spread (with a cool photo by Lori Matsumoto)!:

Sky has "...strong delivery skills, commanding stage presence, and a brilliant understanding of the format." I saw Nancy give a workshop in the Bay Area in January and she's a deep thinker on this subject, so that's quite an endorsement! Congratulations to our not-so-little girl on her first pull quote.

What do you think about this? I think my suggestion came across as more radical than I'd intended, but it's resulting in an interesting discussion.

I'm so proud of Sky! And inordinately pleased at how well the photograph came out.

YAY.
I’m so sorry please I’m sorry I’ll never draw on you again just let me out please it’s smelly and I need to wee wee it’s painful.
That's fantastic!

Lee.
That's absolutely awesome.

I loved Sky's rapid-fire presentation style when I saw it and was thrilled to see lots of talks at OSCON 2008 use that format. It's a great way to wake up a sleepy audience and inspire a jaded one. (And we software developers are usually sleepy and jaded.)
" She followed that blazingly moronic and out-of-touch statement with: "It's really proven the power of YouTube, that anybody can go to sleep and wake up famous.
Congratulations to Sky and her proud parents!

Very cool!
And I love that hair color, FWIW.
That's not her natural hair color. Her natural hair color is actually even brighter red than that. :-O.
Having had the opportunity to see the "polished" version of Sky's presentation near the end of The Tour, I am in complete agreement with the quote, and I try (and fail, but at least I try) to pattern my occasional presentations after those of Sky and Scott. The McCloud Tour completely changed my (formerly negative) opinion about the efficacy of PowerPoint (or Keynote ) presentations.

I'd like to see Scott and Sky collaborate on a book on this topic.
I'd very much like to see one of these texts published. . . . So far as I know, there are no published texts in Rumsen--at least no analyzed texts.
Sky's presence in her interview in 24 Hours Later was astounding to me. It was a little unnerving to hear someone her age be so articulate. Congratulations to Sky!
In the twentieth hour of a hour interview marathon session which featured internationally-known artists and intellectuals, he said, “Chantal [Mouffe, a political scientist], at this point you have to help us out.
